John Legend is embracing his role as a devoted family man.
On Friday, August 30, the 45-year-old musician shared an endearing Instagram carousel featuring his entire family: daughters Luna, 8, and Esti, 19 months; sons Miles, 6, and Wren, 14 months; and his wife, Chrissy Teigen. This post coincided with the release of his latest children’s album, “My Favorite Dream,” which Legend proudly revealed is “completely inspired by my wife and our babies.”
The first image captures a beaming Legend with all four of his children, enjoying a fun moment in a swimming pool. Additional poolside photos show Legend lifting Miles effortlessly above the water with one hand.
In another touching moment, Legend, draped in a cheetah print robe, holds his two youngest children while his older kids gather around him. One particularly sweet image features their youngest, Wren, receiving kisses from both parents on either cheek. The carousel continues with scenes of the children playing on their dad’s piano, Teigen showering them with affection, and Legend carrying his kids on his shoulders.
In the caption, Legend expressed his excitement about the album’s release: “It’s finally release day for My Favorite Dream! This album has been a true labor of love,” he wrote, emphasizing that the project is inspired by his family. “I want our babies AND yours to find joy, inspiration, and comfort from this music. I hope it helps them fall in love with music and cope with all the worries and challenges they may have. I hope the spirit of LOVE at the center of the album is contagious and palpable. And, when it’s time, I hope it helps them FALL ASLEEP (please!) and dream all their favorite dreams.”
Just days earlier, on August 26, Legend unveiled a new tattoo honoring his family. He shared photos of his new arm ink on Instagram, explaining the sentimental significance behind it. “I don’t have much ink on my body,” Legend admitted, noting that his first tattoo was a subtle heart-monitor-like cursive of “chrissylunamiles” on his right arm, symbolizing his growing family. He continued, “I asked @winterstone to come back and mirror it with the new babies,” resulting in “chrissyestiwren” on his left arm.
In a light-hearted exchange, Teigen playfully teased her husband in the comments, exclaiming, “Wait TWO CHRISSYS!!!!!! 😭😭😭.”
Some fans also inquired about a tattoo honoring their late son, Jack, whom the couple lost after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Legend reassured them, noting, “He’s on my wrist!”
