Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem announced on Wednesday that individuals responsible for leaking sensitive details about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations targeting violent illegal aliens have been identified and will face criminal prosecution.
Identifying the Leakers
During an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Noem confirmed that her department had pinpointed multiple insiders within DHS who had tipped off targets of ICE raids, compromising operations and endangering federal agents.
“I have a couple of them identified that are within DHS,” Noem stated. “And when I’m able to reveal that with the evidence, I’m going to prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law, and I’m going to make an example out of them. Just on the way here, I got another notification of another leak. I can’t do anything without it getting leaked, and that’s why we have to have so many operations all over the country at all times so it doesn’t slow us down.”
Crackdown on Illegal Immigration
Noem emphasized that ramping up deportations is a top priority, as her administration currently deports over 30,000 illegal immigrants per month. This effort is a direct response to the estimated 10 million illegal border crossings that occurred during the Biden administration.
“We just don’t have time to sit around,” Noem stressed. “We have to do everything we can every single day because we might have another Laken Riley tomorrow and wish we would have pushed harder and done more. These leakers, they better watch out because we are putting just as much effort into identifying them as we are in tracking down criminals who are out there raping and murdering people. As far as I’m concerned, these leakers are even more dangerous because they completely disregard the safety of our law enforcement officers.”
The Impact of Leaks on ICE Operations
The leaks have already had severe consequences. Last month, the Los Angeles Times published intricate details about an upcoming ICE raid in the Los Angeles area, which aimed to target violent criminals. The exposure forced authorities to cancel the operation due to security threats, a move that outraged officials.
Border czar Tom Homan, who has been leading efforts to secure the border, expressed his frustration over the leaks and vowed swift action.
“I have been in contact with the Department of Justice, and they have assured me that not only will the individuals responsible for these leaks lose their jobs and pensions, but they will also face criminal prosecution,” Homan told reporters. “This is a clear breach of national security, and it will not go unpunished.”
FBI Agent Suspected in Leak Investigation
According to recent reports, a rogue FBI agent may have played a role in leaking sensitive information about ICE raids. When asked about this possibility, Noem didn’t hold back in her criticism of the agency.
“The FBI is so corrupt,” she stated. “We will work with any and every agency to stop leaks and prosecute these crooked deep-state agents to the fullest extent of the law.”
The Path Forward
With an aggressive crackdown on both illegal immigration and internal security breaches, Noem has made it clear that she intends to enforce the law without compromise. As DHS intensifies efforts to deport illegal aliens and eliminate security risks, the department is also ensuring that no one within the federal government can jeopardize law enforcement operations without facing severe consequences.
The investigations are ongoing, but one thing is certain: those who put national security at risk will be held accountable.
