Attorney General Pam Bondi has issued a strong warning to Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) following the congresswoman’s participation in a rally against Tesla and its owner, Elon Musk.
Speaking on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures, Bondi cautioned Crockett, stating:
“She is an elected public official, so she needs to tread very carefully because nothing will happen to Elon Musk, and we’re going to fight to protect all of the Tesla owners throughout this.”
Bondi’s remarks come amid growing tensions over anti-Tesla demonstrations, including economic boycotts, protests, and even violent attacks on Tesla properties nationwide.
Crockett’s Call for Action Against Musk
During the protest, Crockett made a bold statement, tying her opposition to Musk to her birthday:
“On March 29, it’s my birthday, and all I want to see happen on my birthday is for Elon to be taken down.”
Crockett, who serves on the DOGE Oversight Committee, added that financial pressure is the only way to make an impact.
“I have learned, as I serve on the DOGE Oversight committee, that there is only one language that the people that are in charge understand right now, and that language is money.”
Her comments have fueled further controversy, with critics arguing that targeting Tesla financially could have legal implications, particularly if the protests result in criminal activity.
Bondi Labels Attacks on Tesla as ‘Domestic Terrorism’
In response, Bondi issued a stark warning, making it clear that the Trump administration would not tolerate disruptions to Tesla’s operations, particularly those that cross into illegal activity.
“People need to know that the three people in custody right now… will receive severe and swift consequences… We are not coming off these charges. We are looking at everything, especially if this is a concerted effort. This is domestic terrorism.”
Bondi’s comments refer to multiple recent arrests tied to vandalism and arson at Tesla facilities, which she says were carried out by individuals opposed to Musk’s role in Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Tesla Properties Targeted in Nationwide Attacks
The anti-Tesla movement has escalated beyond protests, leading to criminal acts of vandalism and destruction. Bondi announced last week that the Department of Justice (DOJ) was pursuing charges against individuals accused of damaging Tesla dealerships and charging stations.
Several incidents have been reported across the country, including:
- Las Vegas, Nevada – Several Tesla vehicles were set on fire outside a service center, with “RESIST” spray-painted on the building.
- Seattle, Washington – Four Tesla Cybertrucks were torched in a dealership lot.
- Tigard, Oregon – A Tesla showroom was damaged by gunfire.
Bondi has linked these attacks to radical protest groups, including the “Tesla Takedown” movement, which has organized boycotts and demonstrations. Law enforcement officials say some of these groups have escalated from peaceful protest to outright violence.
Legal Consequences for Anti-Tesla Activists
On Thursday, Bondi’s office announced criminal charges against three individuals accused of carrying out coordinated Molotov cocktail attacks on Tesla dealerships and charging stations.
“The days of committing crimes without consequence have ended,” Bondi stated in a press release. “Let this be a warning: if you join this wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put you behind bars.”
According to law enforcement sources, those arrested could face between five and 20 years in prison, depending on the severity of the charges.
Crockett Defends Her Position, Denies Violence
Despite her vocal opposition to Musk and Tesla, Crockett has not been directly linked to any criminal activity and has maintained that her protests are peaceful.
“We know that we are peaceful, loving people, and this is not about violence,” Crockett said during a live stream.
Still, the intensifying protests and criminal charges against some demonstrators have placed increased scrutiny on Crockett and her allies.
