A shocking act of political violence erupted at the University of Texas at Dallas, where Turning Point USA (TPUSA) Chapter President Paige Neumann and her secretary, Grace, were assaulted while tabling on campus. The attack, which was reported by conservative activist Charlie Kirk on X, has sparked outrage as law enforcement officials launch an investigation.
According to Kirk, the assailant used a metal bike lock to strike Neumann in the head with such force that it shattered her phone. Grace, the chapter’s vice president, also had her phone destroyed in the attack. Authorities have yet to confirm the identity of the suspect, noting that it remains unclear whether the attacker is female or transgender.
Neumann has since filed a police report with university law enforcement, who are actively searching for the perpetrator. While the incident could have resulted in severe injuries, Kirk confirmed that both Neumann and Grace are physically doing okay despite the traumatic event. The violent assault, however, has reignited concerns about the safety of conservative students on college campuses.
TPUSA, a national conservative student organization, has frequently been targeted by left-wing activists who oppose its message. The group advocates for free speech, limited government, and constitutional values—stances that have increasingly made its members the subject of hostility at universities across the country.
In response to the attack, supporters of TPUSA and other conservative organizations have called for stronger protections for students who engage in political activism on campus. The incident has also led to renewed discussions about the rise of politically motivated violence and the need for universities to ensure that all students, regardless of ideology, can express their views without fear of physical harm.
Turning Point USA members remain undeterred by the attack, with Kirk praising their resilience and commitment to standing up for their beliefs. “Our Turning Point USA students are the tip of the spear on college campuses across the country. They are brave, strong, and resilient. Thank God for these amazing students,” he wrote.
The investigation is ongoing, with university police working to identify and apprehend the suspect. Many are now calling on UT Dallas officials to take decisive action in holding the perpetrator accountable and ensuring that conservative students feel safe to exercise their First Amendment rights.
